- What is the Gospel?
- The word gospel means ‘good news’ or ‘good message’. The gospel is God’s plan of salvation accomplished by Jesus Christ’s living, dying, and rising again from the dead. Jesus, the eternal Son of God, was born a man, lived perfectly, and offered His life as an acceptable sacrifice for sinners. On the third day He rose from the dead, defeating death and Satan (1 Cor 15:3-4). He now reigns in heaven and will come again. This is the saving truth that all people must believe to be saved.
- Why Heritage?
- A heritage is something that you receive from those who have gone before you. Christians are not isolated individuals in this world. Rather, because of their relationship with Jesus Chris, they stand connected with all the believers who have gone before them. The basis for our name comes primarily from Revelation 21:6-7: And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. (7) The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. All those who have called upon the name of the Lord in truth will find the greatest treasure known to man – eternal life. This life is not simply endless existence, but knowing God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. That is the heritage, purchased by the One who has gone before us, Jesus Christ, that will never pass away.
